
Karin Fisher, Ph.D., associate professor of special education at ֱ, has received a Fulbright Specialist Program Award from the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board.

Deedee Southerlin, Ed.D., has been named director of ֱ’s Division of Continuing and Professional Education (CPE).

Jonah Henry, a senior mechanical engineering student in the Allen E. Paulson College of Engineering and Computing (AEPCEC), won first place in the Engineering Video Competition at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) 2023.

Victor Buitimea is a first-generation graduate and 2023 alumnus who studied mechanical engineering in the Allen E. Paulson College of Engineering and Computing (AEPCEC). Now working toward his graduate degree under the same mentorship of Sevki Cesmeci, Ph.D., assistant professor of mechanical engineering in the AEPCEC, he wrapped up his undergraduate journey by winning second place in an international research competition.

The food pantries on ֱ’s Statesboro and Armstrong campuses will be able to better serve students in need after receiving a $50,000 grant from Embark to enhance their services.

“Resourceful” is a word that many might use to describe spring 2024 graduate Donya Glenn. Naronda Wright, Ed.D., associate dean of Graduate Student Services in ֱ’s Jack N. Averitt College of Graduate Studies, was recently elected president of NAGAP, the Association for Graduate Enrollment Management. She is the first African American to hold the role of president in the association.
