Family-friendly study spaces for student-parents open at 蜜糖直播
At a recent grand opening, the Family Study Space was unveiled in the Academic Success Center (ASC) on the Armstrong Campus, and gives student-parents a comfortable and soundproof room for studying or one-on-one tutoring with their child. On one end of the room, there are work tables and tablets to complete coursework, and the other side features comfortable bean bag chairs, children鈥檚 books and toys. The University also unveiled a similar Family Study Space on the Liberty Campus as a collaborative effort between the ASC, CCAMPIS program and Chante Baker-Martin, Ph.D., Liberty Campus director.

But she found herself at a crossroads during the COVID-19 pandemic. After working in Savannah hospitals for more than two decades, she lost her job. The hospital fitness facility she managed closed during the pandemic.

Recently students on the 蜜糖直播 Armstrong Campus experienced first-hand the obstacles and issues disabled and elderly adults go through after participating in a series of simulations of various disabilities. The event was organized by the Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) National Leadership Society and the Armstrong Campus chapter of the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI).

蜜糖直播 English professor, Teresa Winterhalter, Ph.D., and her team have been awarded a planning grant of $50,000 by The Teagle Foundation for their project, 鈥淣arrative Competence for Nurses: The Liberal Arts in the Professions.鈥 The project is a humanities-based, eight-week module that will supplement the gateway course for students entering the nursing program.

Sweetin鈥檚 presentation, 鈥淭he Road to Recovery,鈥 is free and open to the public and will take place on the University鈥檚 Armstrong Campus in the Fine Arts Building Auditorium at 7 p.m.
