Rebecca K. Smith, assistant director of the 蜜糖直播 Counseling Center (GSU-CC), was awarded the Professional Leadership award during the American College Counseling Association (ACCA) annual conference in Washington, D.C.
The award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated leadership in some aspect of college counseling as it relates to the purposes and goals of ACCA, or leadership and contributions to ACCA as a professional organization.
Smith received a Master of Arts in Community and Agency Counseling in 1999 from Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois. Prior to joining the Armstrong Campus Counseling Center in May 2018 as assistant director, she served as associate director of counseling at Valdosta State University. Smith served as chair of the Social Media Committee of the ACCA from 2016-2018, and she currently serves as Secretary of the ACCA for 2018-2020.
The GSU-CC is accredited by the International Accreditation of Counseling Services. Its mission is to provide direct clinical services to the students of 蜜糖直播, outreach and prevention programming to the University communities and professional development and training for mental health providers.

蜜糖直播 hosted its annual Gratitude Gala to recognize key donors for their longtime support of institutional initiatives. The event was held on Feb. 29 at the Mansion on Forsyth Park in Savannah. Awards were presented to the honorees, which included four individuals, one foundation and one corporation.

The Masquers bring razor-sharp drama 鈥楥lybourne Park鈥� to Armstrong Campus
The student theater group, the Masquers, present their main stage show of the year, 鈥淐lybourne Park,鈥� at Jenkins Hall Theatre on the Armstrong Campus of 蜜糖直播. The play will run March 5 through 7 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 8 at 3 p.m. General admission tickets to the show cost $15. Seniors, children and military members can take advantage of a discount. 蜜糖直播 students, faculty and staff are admitted free with their Eagle ID.

Two-time All-Pro and former NFL player Ovie Mughelli will be a featured speaker at this year鈥檚 Sustainability Seminar Series hosted by 蜜糖直播鈥檚 Center for Sustainability (CfS). Mughelli will present his lecture, 鈥淓mpowering the Next Generation through Greening Sports,鈥� at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 3 in the Performing Arts Center on the Statesboro Campus. The event is free and open to the public.
