Craig Harvey, Ph.D., announced as new dean of أغجاض±²¥â€™s Allen E. Paulson College of Engineering and Computing

Craig M. Harvey, Ph.D., has been selected to serve as the new dean of the Allen E. Paulson College of Engineering and Computing beginning July 1.

أغجاض±²¥ hires new EVP to oversee strategic enrollment initiatives

أغجاض±²¥ is undergoing organizational realignment of several divisions to support its strategic enrollment initiatives and has tapped a consultant and experienced enrollment management professional to lead the effort as the university’s executive vice president for enrollment management, marketing and student success.

Alejandra “Aleâ€‌ Sosa Pieroni currently serves as a vice president for Ruffalo Noel Levitz, working with colleges and universities across the country to help them optimize their marketing, admissions, financial aid and student success practices. She will bring that expertise to أغجاض±²¥ to lead a single unit combining the areas of Enrollment Management, University Communications and Marketing, Advising, and Student Services.

The أغجاض±²¥ Military and Veterans Services Department will award Military Spouse Scholarships provided by the Landings Military Spouse Academic Assistance Funds in February.

أغجاض±²¥ investing $1.2 million to upgrade campus security cameras

أغجاض±²¥ is planning a major upgrade to its campus security cameras and video technology.

With approximately $1.2 million budgeted, the University will upgrade the cameras in the resident halls and other buildings in Statesboro, Savannah and Hinesville to bring the current cameras from analog to a digital platform. Additionally, new cameras will be placed at entrances to our campuses that can tie into those from other law enforcement agencies. The end result will be an interconnected network of cameras across the region.

أغجاض±²¥ is launching a new Bachelor of Science in software engineering this fall, making it the only such degree offered by a public university in Georgia outside of Atlanta.

Beginning in fall 2023, a public health pathway will be offered to high school students in Bulloch County. This three-course pathway will introduce students to the broad topic of health care. The first two courses, Introduction to Healthcare Science and Essentials of Healthcare, are currently offered to high school students in the county. The new course, Applications of Public Health, will introduce students to the knowledge and skills needed for a career in public health.
