SERVE912 is ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥â€™s local service initiative. We engage with the community year-round through regularly scheduled volunteer trips, ongoing community service activities (like Sculpt-It! Canned Food Drive, Holiday Helper Tree, and Caring for Community Day), and meeting local needs as part of the Director’s Immediate Response Team (DIRT).
The goal of the SERVE912 program is to provide various ways to explore the valuable services community agencies provide our diverse community members and to help you live your values through service and volunteerism. We encourage you to try volunteering on a few different SERVE912 trips until you find one that fits you, then start serving there on your own. Transportation is provided by the Office of Leadership & Community Engagement. Join other ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ students, connect with the broader community, and learn about important local issues!
Weekly Trips
SERVE912 Weekly Trips provide students with weekly opportunities to volunteer. Transportation is provided – all you need to do is sign-up and show up! Students sign up on a week-to-week basis so you can try different trips or take a week off if you need to!

SERVE912 is excited to offer the following trip schedule for Statesboro Campus students. Students will meet in the Office of Leadership and Community Engagement (Russell Union Room 1056) 15 minutes prior to their trip start time. Students should be dressed in climate-appropriate clothing they do not mind getting dirty and closed toed shoes.
Trips will run from August 25th – November 22nd. Sign-ups for Fall SERVE912 Trips will open every Friday where students can sign up for trips that run the following week!

Step into Statesboro
Serve. Explore. Connect.
As a student at ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥, you are a vital part of not only the Eagle Nation, but also the local Statesboro community. Welcome! For as long as you are here, you will make an impact on our community. The decisions you make about where to live, where to work, where to shop, and how to spend your time add up to create larger impacts. Students are the reason for much of our city’s vibrancy and success. We’re glad you’re here!
Step into Statesboro is an event designed to welcome students to the city of Statesboro, and help you discover the Statesboro community, and learn about local volunteer and community engagement opportunities! Students will participate in a morning service project at a local non-profit/community organization before embarking on a guided tour of downtown Statesboro. As part of the tour, students will visit the Farmers Market and Visitor’s Center! The day will conclude with a presentation from a featured guest speaker and reflection. Lunch will be provided.

Community Liasons
Community Liaisons are placed at local organizations to bridge the gap between the Statesboro Community and ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ by recruiting volunteers, managing programs, initiating projects, and assisting with other needs. We have a community liaison at 13 local organizations!

DIRT (Director’s Immediate Response Team)
The Director’s Immediate Response Team (DIRT) is a team of ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ students ready to address one-time, labor-intensive, and/or urgent projects in the community (such as painting, re-organizing, and sudden needs for repair). The DIRT volunteer list is open to all ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ students. Students interested in receiving DIRT alerts or who would like more information should contact leader@georgiasouthern.edu.

Holiday Helper Tree
A ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ tradition! Each November, the event kicks-off with the lighting of a tree with tags on it. Pick a tag (in-person or virtually) and donate a gift to someone in need. You can also donate wrapping supplies or adopt a family.
