Information for People with COVID-19

The CDC has updated and simplified its recommendations for individuals with a respiratory virus. As of 1 March 2024, individuals with symptoms of a respiratory virus should stay home and away from others. You can go back to normal activities when, for at least 24 hours:

  • Your symptoms are getting better overall, and
  • You have not had a fever (and are not using fever-reducing medications).

When you go back to your normal activities, take added precaution over the next 5 days by wearing a mask, practicing physical distancing, and washing your hands.

Students

  1. Students are encouraged to contact their instructors directly to discuss makeup work, extensions, and/or other arrangements related to necessary absences.
  2. Students may submit a faculty notification request to the Dean of Students Office by clicking here.

Precautions for People Exposed to COVID-19

If you were exposed to someone who tested positive for COVID-19 or have been told by a healthcare provider or public health authority that you were exposed, there are steps that you should take, regardless of your vaccination status or if you have had a previous infection. Steps include:

  • Watch for symptoms for 10 days.
  • Wear a mask around others indoors for 10 days.
  • , or sooner if you have symptoms.

USG COVID-19 Guidance

The University System of Georgia (USG) continues to recognize that COVID-19 vaccines and boosters offer safe, effective protection and urges all students, faculty, staff, and visitors to get vaccinated and/or boosted either on campus or with a local provider.

As USG works closely with the Georgia Department of Public Health to prioritize the health and safety of campus communities, the system encourages people to wear masks based on their preference and assessment of personal risk.

COVID-19 Testing

COVID-19 testing is offered to ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ students, faculty, and staff with or without COVID-19 symptoms. Please read the information below for details on our testing options.

Symptomatic students may schedule an appointment with their Health Services provider for evaluation and in-house rapid testing on the Statesboro and Armstrong campuses. Click here to schedule an appointment today!

At-Home COVID-19 Antigen Test Kits are now available in the Health Services Pharmacy on the Statesboro campus. These tests are a convenient and affordable option for students, faculty, and staff.

COVID-19 Vaccination

Seasonal COVID-19 vaccinations are available while supplies last to all ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ students, faculty, and staff right here on campus! Vaccines are offered at the Armstrong Health Clinic (by appointment) and at the ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Pharmacy (no appointment necessary).
