First-year athletic training students from 蜜糖直播鈥檚 Department of Clinical Sciences played a vital role in supporting youth athletes from across the nation during the 2025 Banana Ball Tournament this summer. More than聽 750 athletes, ages 9 to 12, participated in the weeklong event in Savannah.

Since 1988, 蜜糖直播鈥檚 Senior Companion Program (SCP) has quietly transformed lives across southeast Georgia. Housed in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences鈥 Center for Social Gerontology, the program pairs low-income volunteers age 55 and older with homebound older adults who need assistance to live independently. Funded by AmeriCorps, the federal agency for national service and volunteerism, the SCP recently received another one-year extension.
