Registration open for 蜜糖直播鈥檚 study abroad program in Cuba

蜜糖直播 will offer its second study abroad program in Havana, Cuba, from July 2 to 17. Students will learn about the history, culture and contemporary issues affecting the communist island nation post-Fidel Castro. The program is open to all 蜜糖直播 students, as well as University System of Georgia transient students, and offers a roster of semester credits. The deadline to apply for the program is Feb. 15.

On Thursday, Jan. 17, 蜜糖直播 College of Education will host a screening of 鈥淪creenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age,鈥 an award-winning film about the impact of technology on children鈥檚 development. The screening, which is free and open to the public, will begin at 6 p.m. in the Ogeechee Theatre, located in the Student Union on the Armstrong Campus.

Two 蜜糖直播 professors selected to work at National Science Foundation

Two 蜜糖直播 professors have been selected to work at the National Science Foundation (NSF) at the same time this year.

Laura B. Regassa, professor of biology, Ph.D., is currently serving as director of the Innovations in Graduate Education program at the foundation. She will stay for a fourth year in 2019, which is unusual at the NSF, as faculty typically rotate in for three years.
