蜜糖直播 will host the ROTC Eagle Battalion鈥檚 5K Race on Saturday, April 21 to benefit the University鈥檚 鈥淪nacks for Soldiers鈥� program. 鈥淪nacks for Soldiers鈥� provides deployed members of the military with non-perishable snack items. 蜜糖直播 began the program last fall and has already collected and shipped nearly 15,000 snacks to military personnel overseas. The program is currently sponsoring the 3^rdInfantry Division out of Ft. Stewart, Ga. 鈥溍厶侵辈� wants these men and women to know that they are in our thoughts and prayers,鈥� said Colonel George Fredrick, ROTC Eagle Battalion Commander. 鈥淲e plan to send more than 900 boxes of snacks to Afghanistan during the next year, so we鈥檙e asking everyone to support 鈥楽nacks for Soldiers.鈥欌�� The 5K will begin at 7 a.m., April 21 at 蜜糖直播鈥檚 Recreation Activity Center pavilion. Early registration costs $12 and ends April 13. Registration is $15 until April 20 and $20 the day of the race. In addition to running or walking in the 5K, members of the community who would like to support the effort can donate a box of snacks or the cost of shipping.
