ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ Mascot Wins Nike+ Mascot Trot at Georgia State Capitol
Gus, ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥’s popular mascot, scored a major victory on Saturday March 10, 2012 defeating nearly 20 other university and professional mascots in Georgia Lt. Governor Casey Cagle’s second annual Nike+ Mascot Trot.
Gus was at the State Capitol as part of Be Healthy Georgia Day, a program started by the Lt. Governor to educate children and families on how to live a healthy and fit lifestyle. While at the event, Gus visited with Atlanta families as well as numerous ÃÛÌÇÖ±²¥ alumni that stopped by to say hello.
He later competed in the race and edged out Harry The Hawk of the Atlanta Hawks’ NBA team to score first place.
